Hampton Harris picks up endorsement from Eagle Forum and the Christian Coalition of Alabama

August 3, 2026 - MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Christian Coalition of Alabama and Eagle Forum PAC have both endorsed Hampton Harris for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District ahead of the August 11 Republican special primary.

The Christian Coalition of Alabama works to advance Biblical principles in the public square. Its stated mission includes defending life from conception to natural death, protecting families as God designed them, guarding religious liberty, and equipping Christians to engage in civic leadership. The organization has repeatedly called on believers not to retreat but to stand for truth without apology.

Harris is a Montgomery native, attorney, and real estate broker.

"I am grateful for the Christian Coalition of Alabama's support," Harris said in a statement. "This is a faith-based campaign. I am pro-life with no exceptions because every life is made in the image of God. And I will stand for Jesus Christ in Washington, D.C. If we who claim His name will not represent Him there, no one else is coming to do it on our behalf. The church cannot hide while culture and policy drift further from truth."

"Hampton Harris is a true conservative candidate who has committed to defend all people – born and unborn – in Congress," stated Kris Ullman, President of Eagle Forum. "He understands that Alabamians want to be free from over-regulation by the Washington, D.C. bureaucracy. He will fight to lower taxes, support our veterans, put America first, and preserve the nuclear family."

Harris said in a statement that he is grateful for Eagle Forum's support and shares their commitment to defending life, liberty, and traditional American values.

Eagle Forum PAC stated: "From protecting our borders and Second Amendment rights to standing up for babies and their families, Hampton Harris will work tirelessly to support the voters in his district."

Harris also has the endorsements of the national Women's Prayer and Voting Army.

Harris is focusing on an intensive grassroots campaign across the 2nd District. He has emphasized that his priorities in Congress will include defending the unborn, protecting religious liberty, supporting military families and veterans, and advancing policies consistent with a Biblical worldview.

Before Alabama's congressional district lines were redrawn, Harris was the only Republican willing to challenge incumbent Democrat Congressman Shomari Figures (D-Mobile) under the previous district lines.

Harris was homeschooled. He has a bachelor's degree from Auburn University at Montgomery and a law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.

His Core Priorities are Pro-life, constitutional freedoms, and family values.

He is married to an Air Force Captain and JAG Officer. They met at Cumberland School of Law.

The CD2 special election is on August 11.

Other GOP candidates include: Chris Horn, James Richardson, David Matthews, Rhett Marques, and Joshua McKee.

The Winner of the special Republican primary will face incumbent Congressman Shomari Figures in November.
