Celtic Woman To Perform Their Christmas Show At The Oxford Performing Arts Center

The Irish music juggernaut, Celtic Woman, will be performing their Christmas themed program at the Oxford Performing Arts Center on Friday, December 18th, 2026 as part of their Silver Bells Christmas Tour. While the heat of August may make it seem far too early to start thinking about tickets for Christmas themed concerts, Celtic Woman is an all-female Irish music ensemble that has sold more than nine million records worldwide since its formation in 2004. Hence, good tickets for their concerts can be both scarce and a bit pricey. Yet, as always with Celtic Woman, well worth the experience.

While Celtic Woman hasn't announced yet who will be performing on their Silver Bells Christmas Tour, the current members of Celtic Woman are Mairéad Carlin, Muirgen O'Mahony, Caitríona Sherlock, and Kate Heneghan. Mairéad Carlin is the first member of Celtic Woman who was born in Northern Ireland. Muirgen O'Mahony is a native of County Cork in Ireland who does a particularly lovely rendition of "Down By The Salley Gardens". Caitríona Sherlock has been studying the traditional Irish Sean-Nós singing since she was 7. With Sherlock stating that even after performing on various stages of all kinds, her favorite place to sing is in the field to her father's cows. Kate Heneghan is both an award-winning Irish fiddle player and a harpist. With the Irish Harp being the official national emblem of Ireland. Celtic Woman's Silver Bells Christmas Tour will showcase traditional Irish tunes alongside Christmas classics such as "Oh Holy Night" and "Joy To The World". With Celtic Woman's performance in Oxford being presented by the First Bank of Alabama.

While major entertainment companies often prefer to schedule tour stops in large entertainment hubs like Atlanta and Nashville, Celtic Woman has consistently performed in Alabama on average at least once every one to two years. With Celtic Woman having performed in the past in Anniston, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Birmingham-upon multiple occasions. As the Grammy-nominated Irish music group has a strong local following in Alabama due to Alabama Public Television frequently partnering with Celtic Woman and their special televised concert events. According to commercial DNA registries such as the MyHeritage Alabama Ethnicity Map, 21.8% of tested Alabamians have Irish, Scottish, and Welsh heritage.
