Governor Ivey Encourages 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th Congressional District Alabamians to Head to the Polls for Special Primary Election

MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey on Monday encouraged Alabamians in the state's 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th congressional districts to vote in the upcoming Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Special Congressional Primary Election.

"The strength and success of the United States Congress begins with an engaged electorate. If you live in Alabama's 1st, 2nd, 6th or 7th congressional districts, I encourage you to do your civic duty by casting your ballot on August 11," said Governor Ivey. "By participating in this special election, you'll help ensure Alabama's voice continues to be heard in Washington."

Following the restoration of Alabama's legislatively enacted congressional district map earlier this year, Governor Ivey established a special election schedule for Alabama's 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th congressional districts. Eligible voters in those districts will now head to the polls to cast their ballots in the Special Congressional Primary Election.
