Pistol Permit Requirements
In order to obtain a concealed pistol permit in Elmore County you will need to visit the Elmore County Sheriff's Office at 8955 U.S. Highway 231, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. You will need to bring a valid Alabama ID when applying for a permit. If you have recently established residency in Elmore County from out of state, you must bring your previous state ID and proof of residency in Elmore County. Upon arrival you will need to fill out a pistol permit application that will be provided to you. You will also need to provide names and telephone numbers for three (3) character references. The fee for a pistol permit is $20 per year. You may purchase a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 year permit. Fees must be paid in cash or check.

How to pay your Fines/Citations
Fines and citations are neither paid nor collected by the Elmore County Sheriff's Office. You must go to the Circuit Clerk's Office during normal business hours. The amounts owed can be found out by calling (334) 567-1123 or (334) 567-1124. Brian Justiss is the Circuit Clerk for Elmore County. His office is located in the Judicial Complex (Courthouse) at 8935 U. S. Highway 231 on the 1st floor.
