People often say that God won't give you more than you can handle. Are you kidding me?!?! God will give you abundantly more than you can handle so that you will learn to hand it off to the who can …which is God.
“Be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10
As long as you think that you got this in your own power and your own ability, with your own strength, As long as you think that you can do it. You are the master of your own ship. You are the captain of your life. You can battle the wind and the waves on your own. If that's you, you are going to find out very soon that the weight of the world is going to crush upon you.
But (and this is big, so listen up!) when you say Jesus, I can't do it on my own. I'm trusting you with this situation, this storm. I'm giving it over to you. I recognize that I have limitations and that you are limitless. I give it over to you, God. I trust you with it and I know that you can speak peace to the storm. You can speak peace into my heart and into my life.
“He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So, He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalms 107:29-31
The peace of God is available to you, my friend. It's an invitation. He won't take what you don't give. As long as you have Jesus in the boat, as long as He is with you in your life, He can speak to the wind and the waves…saying “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39) and all will be still.
Many Blessings!
P.S. Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary to my husband, Brian! I love you!! “You are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.” E.E. Cummings
