June 9, 2025 - TUJSCALOOSA, AL - History repeats itself for Tuscaloosa City Councilman, Norman Crow. As he was first elected to the Tuscaloosa City Council in March of 2021 to replace the outgoing city councillor, Cynthia Almond. Cynthia Almond was later elected to the Alabama House of Representatives for the 63rd District. Now that Almond will be vacating her House seat on June 15th, 2025 to head the Public Service Commission, sources say that Norman Crow intends to follow in her footsteps again and run for Cynthia Almond's former seat serving District 63 in the Alabama House of Representatives.
Norman Crow is currently serving the city of Tuscaloosa as councilman for District 3, which encompasses a sizeable region north of the Black Warrior River. He recently won re-election to his city council seat in March of 2025, unopposed. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Business Council of Alabama. He previously served on the Alabama Workforce Council which is considered by some to be part of the Agenda 30, Gov. Ivey's comprehensive economic development plan for the state.
Norman Crow also previously represented his district on the Tuscaloosa Board of Education. With his three children having attended city schools. He received his own education from The University of Alabama with a degree in accounting in 1990 and is a Certified Public Accountant.
During his term as city councillor for District 3, Norman Crow worked on improvements for the Rock Quarry Boat Landing, $2.5 million in paving projects, and opening the Northern Riverwalk among other things. He and his wife, Keeshan, attend Trinity Presbyterian Church with their children.
Prior to selling the Tuscaloosa based company, DT Freight, Norman Crow was the owner of the company. With Crow managing to remain as President of the company even after it was sold. DT Freight was a trucking company that specialized in hauling steel plates and coils, lumber, pipe, and heavy machinery primarily throughout the Southeast and Midwest.
A big supporter of U.S. Senator Katie Britt during her senate election campaign in 2022, Norman Crow hosted a fundraising meet and greet for Senator Britt in his home in the Indian Hills Country Club of Tuscaloosa. A fundraiser which was attended by former U.S. Senator Richard Shelby among other Republican luminaries of the state.
Alabama House District 63 includes areas of Tuscaloosa and Northport. Governor Kay Ivey will call a special election to fill the House seat once it is vacated by Cynthia Almond. The date for the special election has not been set as of yet.
