While Hallmark typically films its lovely "feel good" light-romantic movies in the scenic locations of Abbotsford, Langley, and Burnaby in Canada, for "Double Scoop", Hallmark came to Alabama for its filming in the spring of this year. With the farmlands of Shelby County and their rolling hills providing the lovely setting for some of the ice cream festivals featured in the film. And the charmingly quaint historic downtown of Columbiana also providing a lovely backdrop for "Double Scoop". Now, The Hallmark Channel has announced that "Double Scoop" will premiere on The Hallmark Channel on August 23rd at seven o'clock Central Time.
"Double Scoop" features popular veteran actors of The Hallmark Channel with the lovely Taylor Cole portraying Nora and the tall former college football player, Ryan McPartlin, portraying James in the film. The plot of the film consists of the two "big city" advertising executives vying for the advertising bid of this dairy that makes the best ice cream in the world. While used to the hectic lifestyle of the big city, it is while they are exploring this midwestern slower paced small town dairy farm community that the pair begin to fall in-love.
Many local Alabamians were used as background extras in the film with the casting being handled by Goleman Casting, LLC. A casting company based out of Mobile, Alabama run by Ron and Brandy Goleman. So on August 23rd, Alabamians watching the film can be on the lookout for any familiar faces that they may spot among the crowd scenes. As well as enjoy the lovely scenery of Shelby County, Alabama.
