July 17, 2025 – CULLMAN, AL – In House District 12 third place finisher Heather Doyle has endorsed first place finisher Cindy Myrex in the special Republican primary runoff against Clint Hollingsworth.
Myrex finished just a handful of votes shy of winning the HD12 GOP primary outright on Tuesday.
Heather Doyle received 150 votes - 3.51%. Hollingsworth had 1,848 votes - 43.24%. Dan McWhorter received 147 votes - 3.44%. Cindy Myrex got 2,090 votes - 49.81%.
Heather Doyle's campaign released the following statement:
"Congratulations to Cindy and Clint on their victories. I sincerely hope my supporters will support Cindy-because Alabama needs more strong female voices in the House who will fight for tax relief, advocate for family court reform, and demand transparency in government," said Doyle. "Cindy will reflect the values of her constituents and work to protect the voices of children-something Alabama is far behind on."
"Thank you to everyone who supported me," said Doyle. "Your encouragement means everything, and I promise-I'll never stop fighting for a better Bama. Let's keep pushing forward. Support Cindy and let's bring the change District 12 deserves."
The runoff is set for August 12th between Hollingsworth and Myrex.
The eventual Republican nominee will still have to fact Democrat Matt Glover in the special general election on October 28.
