Alabama Farmers Federation Endorses Derrick Chen for State Auditor

October 1, 2025 - MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), one of the state's most influential grassroots organizations, has endorsed Derrick Chen for State Auditor in the upcoming 2026 election. The endorsement, announced through ALFA's political arm Alabama FarmPAC, signals growing momentum for Chen's campaign as he seeks to bring transparency and accountability to one of Alabama's most overlooked constitutional offices.

Chen, a former legislative staffer and fiscal policy analyst, expressed gratitude for the endorsement in a series of Facebook posts this week. "I'm honored to have the endorsement of the Alabama Farmers Federation," Chen wrote. "ALFA members know what it means to run things efficiently, account for every dollar, and do the job with integrity. That is exactly how I will approach the role of State Auditor."

The endorsement followed ALFA's annual FarmPAC meeting in Montgomery, where candidates from across the state presented their platforms to Federation leaders representing all 67 counties. ALFA President Jimmy Parnell emphasized the weight of the Federation's support: "Candidates often say the auditorium where we hold the FarmPAC meeting is the most intimidating venue in state politics. That's because they understand the value of our grassroots endorsement".

Chen's message to voters has focused on restoring public trust in government operations. "I will bring transparency, accountability, and common sense to a government that too often forgets who it works for," he posted. "As Auditor, I'll ensure taxpayers know where their money goes-and that it's being used wisely."

The Alabama Farmers Federation joins a growing list of organizations backing Chen's candidacy, including the Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives and the Alabama Forestry Association.

With over 160 races on the ballot in 2026, including several key open seats, ALFA's endorsements are expected to shape the trajectory of state government for years to come. "We're thankful to support a strong slate of conservative leaders and look forward to working with them to move Alabama forward," Parnell said.

Chen's campaign continues to emphasize fiscal stewardship, rural engagement, and restoring the Auditor's role as a watchdog for public assets. "I'm running to serve-not to climb the political ladder," Chen wrote. "Let's get back to basics and make sure Alabama's government works for the people who pay the bills."
