Walker Pledges to Defend Alabama Agriculture and Rural Communities
TALLADEGA, Ala. - October 22, 2025 - Rodney Walker, Republican candidate for the United States Senate, has received a major endorsement from one of Alabama's most respected agricultural leaders. Chris Langley, the state's 2017 Farmer of the Year and a fifth-generation land steward from Chambers County, announced his support for Walker's campaign, citing the candidate's deep understanding of rural issues and commitment to defending Alabama's agricultural economy.
Langley, who operates Langley Farms and Chris Langley Timber and Management alongside his wife Elizabeth and their family, manages over 2,600 acres of timber, hay, and grazing land. He is a recognized leader in both the Alabama Cattlemen's Association and the Alabama Forestry Commission, known for his advocacy of sustainable land management and rural economic development.
"Rodney is a farmer and a businessman who understands the challenges facing working people in our state," Langley said. "He'll stand up for all Alabamians."
A Voice for Alabama's Farm Families
Walker, who has made agriculture and landowner rights central to his campaign, expressed gratitude for Langley's endorsement.
"I have great respect for Chris Langley and the generations of farmers who have built our state," Walker said. "Washington needs to step up and protect the people who feed our families and keep our rural communities strong. Our farmers and landowners deserve more, and I will fight every day to defend their livelihoods and their land."
Walker has recently drawn attention to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), warning that it could have devastating consequences for American agriculture. He has urged Congress to reject any foreign land-use mandates that could undermine U.S. producers.
"We cannot allow international bureaucrats to dictate how Alabama farmers manage their land," Walker said. "Our timber producers and cattlemen know what works in our soil, our climate, and our economy. They don't need Brussels telling them how to operate."
Building a Rural Coalition
Langley's endorsement adds momentum to Walker's growing coalition of farmers, small business owners, and rural leaders across Alabama. His campaign has focused on protecting property rights, reducing regulatory burdens, and expanding economic opportunities in rural communities.
Walker's background as both a farmer and businessman has resonated with voters who feel overlooked by Washington. His platform includes proposals to strengthen agricultural trade, invest in rural infrastructure, and defend family-owned farms from overreach.
About Chris Langley
Chris Langley's reputation in Alabama agriculture is well-established. His stewardship of timber and grazing lands has earned him statewide recognition, and his leadership roles in the Alabama Cattlemen's Association and Forestry Commission reflect his commitment to both conservation and economic growth.
Langley's endorsement is expected to carry weight among voters in east Alabama and beyond, especially those in the forestry, cattle, and land management sectors.
Walker faces a crowded GOP primary field that includes veteran and former Tuberville aide Morgan Murphy, Attorney General Steve Marshall, Congressman Barry Moore, and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson.
The Republican primary is on May 19, 2026.
