Alabama Farmers Federation Endorses Rep. Reed Ingram

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AlL. Nov. 5 - The Alabama Farmers Federation has announced its endorsement of Rep. Reed Ingram for Alabama House District 75, which encompasses portions of Elmore and Montgomery counties.

"Rep. Ingram is a hard-working conservative businessman and farmer who understands and can relate to our needs," said Richard Edgar, president of the Elmore County Farmers Federation. "That is why we are proud to support him."

Montgomery County Farmers Federation President Kathy Gordon praised Ingram's record as an incumbent.

"Rep. Ingram is one of us. He has been there for us and has taken to heart our concerns and needs as farmers and as businesspeople," Gordon said. "He is a conservative who is accessible and hard working. We look forward to supporting him again."

Ingram was elected to the House of Representatives in 2014. He previously served on the Montgomery County Commission from 2004-2014. He serves as chairman of the House County & Municipal Government Committee and as a member of the House Agriculture & Forestry Committee.

Ingram owns and operates SweetCreek Farm Market in Pike Road, which is one of the fastest-growing retail businesses in the area.

Ingram is involved with a variety of civic and charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Montgomery County EMA Advisory Steering Committee and the South Alabama Development Commission. He also serves on the Central Alabama Aging Consortium.

"It is humbling to receive the endorsement of the Farmers Federation in this county and our state," said Ingram. "They are a conservative group of people who work hard to help improve our community and our state, so I look forward to joining with them to do so."

Ingram and his wife, Karen, have two children and five grandchildren. They are members of Pike Road Baptist Church.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state's largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a true grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
