Alabama Farmers Federation Endorses Patrick Johnson in HD 8

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala., Jan. 28 - The Alabama Farmers Federation has announced its endorsement of Republican Patrick Johnson for House District 8 in Morgan County. The Republican Primary Election is May 19.

"Patrick grew up on a farm and is a small business owner who knows the needs of both business and agriculture," said Mike Reeves, president of the Morgan County Farmers Federation. "He will carry that experience and knowledge to Montgomery to represent us in the Legislature."

Johnson graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1999 with a B.S. in history and biology and a minor in geography. He is a lifelong resident of Morgan County, being raised on a family farm that still operates today.

Johnson has served as a small business owner in Decatur for 17 years. He has served as the chairman of the board of directors for the Decatur-Morgan Chamber of Commerce, as a member and past president of the Decatur Kiwanis Club and received the University of North Alabama Community Service Award.

"It is a great honor to be endorsed by the farmers of Morgan County," said Johnson. "We share the same conservative values and ideals as the people of this district, and I look forward to taking those values with me to serve in Montgomery."

Johnson and his wife, Vanessa, have two adult daughters. They attend Life Point Church in Decatur.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state's largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a true grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
