KettenWulf to Open Auburn Manufacturing Facility, Bringing $34 Million Investment and 70 New Jobs

AUBURN, Ala. - Governor Kay Ivey announced Monday that German chain manufacturer KettenWulf will establish a new U.S. manufacturing operation in Auburn, marking a major international investment in East Alabama's growing industrial sector. The project represents a $34 million capital investment and is expected to create 70 new jobs.

KettenWulf, founded in 1925 and celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, is a family‑owned global manufacturer specializing in high‑performance engineered conveyor chains, drive chains, and sprockets used across heavy industries including mining, steelmaking, bulk‑material handling, and advanced manufacturing.

Governor Ivey said the company's decision underscores Alabama's competitiveness in attracting world‑class manufacturers.

"KettenWulf's decision to invest in Auburn speaks to Alabama's ability to compete and win on the global stage," Ivey said. "With a highly skilled workforce and deep manufacturing heritage, Alabama's business climate continues to attract innovative manufacturing companies from around the world."

KettenWulf CEO Ansgar Wulf said the move reflects the company's long‑term commitment to serving customers across the Americas.

"On behalf of the Wulf family, we appreciate the valuable support we have received from the city of Auburn and the state of Alabama that made this possible," Wulf said. "We are proud to have found our new home in Auburn to serve our customers across the Americas."

The Auburn facility will serve as a foundation for future U.S. growth, strengthening the company's presence in North America.

Auburn Mayor Ron Anders, Jr. praised the announcement, calling it a major win for the city's technology‑driven manufacturing sector.

"We are grateful to the Wulf family for choosing Auburn and bringing this great company to our city," Anders said. "KettenWulf further strengthens our technology‑based manufacturing sector. We are excited about the economic impact that the investment represents and are grateful for the good jobs offering opportunities for our citizens."

The Alabama Department of Commerce and Auburn's Economic Development Department partnered closely to support the project.

"We are excited to welcome KettenWulf to East Alabama, and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship," McNair said. "The company's decision to develop future innovations in Auburn speaks to the talent and experience of the local workforce and the strong community support that is already in place."
