Candidate forum in Mobile on April 9

There will be a candidate forum for the Alabama House District 97, House District 99, and the Mobile County Sheriff's races. The Link Up The Vote Candidate Forum will be held on April 9th at 5:30 p.m. at Bishop State Community College. There will be updates in coming weeks as candidates confirm and all sponsoring partners schedule their election awareness activities.

In House District 97 - incumbent Rep. Adline C. Clarke (D-Mobile) faces a stiff primary challenge from Shalela Dowdy

In House District 99 Rep. Sam Jones (D-Mobile) faces two Democratic primary challengers in Jyl Hughes and Levi Wright, Jr.

There is no Republican candidate in House District 97.

Charlie Watts is the Republican nominee in House District 99.

The Democratic Primary is on May 19.

Pamela Laffitte is the Democratic Party nominee for Mobile County Sheriff.

Incumbent Paul Birch Jr. faces a challenge from former Mobile Police Chief Paul Prine in the Republican Primary.

The Republican primary is also on May 19.
