TALLADEGA, Ala. - Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore has endorsed Republican Katherine Robertson for Alabama Attorney General, praising her decade of experience in the Attorney General's Office and her readiness to step into the state's top law‑enforcement role.
Sheriff Kilgore said Robertson's long tenure as Chief Counsel uniquely positions her to lead the office on day one.
"I am proud to support Katherine Robertson in her race for Attorney General. There is no doubt in my mind that she is the right person for the job," Kilgore said. "Her experience serving as Chief Counsel for the last ten years will ensure a seamless transition in the office, which will serve the law enforcement community and the People of Alabama well. I'll be voting for her in May and ask that you do the same."
Robertson has spent the past decade defending Alabama's interests and working closely with law enforcement across the state. Her campaign has emphasized her record of pushing back against federal overreach and supporting conservative legal priorities.
In response to the endorsement, Robertson thanked Sheriff Kilgore for his leadership and commitment to public safety.
"I want to thank Sheriff Kilgore for his endorsement and for his unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe," Robertson said. "I look forward to continuing to help Sheriff Kilgore and other law enforcement leaders like him from around the state fight with a clear pro‑law‑and‑order agenda. As Attorney General, my top priority will be cracking down on crime and putting the full weight of the office behind those who protect us. Alabama deserves tough, proven leadership that puts public safety first. That's exactly the type of leadership I'll offer."
Robertson's coalition of supporters continues to expand. In addition to Sheriff Kilgore, she has earned endorsements from 20 other active law‑enforcement leaders, as well as major statewide organizations including the Republican Attorneys General Association, the Alabama Farmers Federation, the Alabama Forestry Association, the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers of Alabama, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama, and the Alabama Cattlemen's Association's BEEF PAC.
Robertson faces a challenging path to be the next Alabama Attorney General. Former Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey also both qualified in the Republican primary. The eventual Republican nominee will still have to face Democratic nominee Jeff McLaughlin in the November general election.
