Walker Urges Senate to Pass SAVE Act and Protect Women's Sports: "No More Excuses"

March 20, 2026 - LINEVILLE, Ala. - Alabama businessman and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rodney Walker is calling on Congress to move swiftly on two issues he says voters overwhelmingly support: verifying citizenship for federal elections and protecting women's sports. Walker urged the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act - along with an amendment banning biological males from competing in women's athletics - without delay.

"The American people have been asking for two simple things: make sure only citizens vote, and keep men out of women's sports," Walker said in a statement Friday. "Both are common sense. Both have overwhelming public support. And both are sitting on the Senate floor right now. Pass them."

Pushing for Citizenship Verification

The SAVE America Act, which passed the U.S. House on February 11, would require documentary proof of citizenship - such as a passport or birth certificate - to register to vote in federal elections. Walker said the measure is overdue and essential for election integrity.

"It is already illegal for non‑citizens to vote," Walker said. "The SAVE Act just makes sure we can enforce that. Every legitimate voter should want that. Anyone fighting this bill owes Alabamians an explanation."

Backing a Permanent Ban on Biological Males in Women's Sports

Walker also voiced strong support for the amendment that would codify into federal law a ban on biological males competing in women's sports. The policy mirrors protections established by President Trump through executive order, but Walker argued that executive action alone is not enough.

"Women worked too hard for too long to have their opportunities taken away," he said. "Congress needs to lock this in - permanently - not leave it to executive orders that can be undone the next time the wrong person wins the White House."

A Campaign Framed Around Results, Not Rhetoric

Walker, who has built businesses in construction, quarry operations, fuel distribution, and cattle ranching, said the current debate in Washington highlights why he entered the race. He criticized what he described as political theater in the Senate while everyday Alabamians wait for action.

"I'm running because Alabamians deserve a senator who shows up to work and gets things done," Walker said. "The SAVE Act and the amendment aren't complicated. They're what the people want. As your next United States Senator I will fight every day for the things that Alabamians want."
