Democrats went to the polls on May 19 to select their nominees for the Alabama Legislature.
In Senate District 2 there will be primary runoff election between Rudolph Valentino Drake and Alex House. Drake received 4,561 votes (36.57%) while House got 4,221 votes (33.85%). Guy Sotomayor received 3,689 votes (29.58%).
In Senate District 25 incumbent Senator Kirk Hatcher held off a challenge from Phadra Carson Foster and KK Middleton. Hatcher received 12,250 votes (55.4%). Foster had 5,312 votes (24.02%) and Middleton received 4,5459 (20.57%).
In Alabama House Seats:
HD25 Allison T Montgomery defeated Damon Eubanks. Montgomery had 2,858 votes (67.9%) to Eubanks 1,351 (32.1%).
HD32 Debra D Foster 2,851 (67.61%) defeated David E. Reddick 1,366 (32.39%).
HD38 Hazel Floyd 1,522 (73.85%) over Christopher F. Davis 539 (26.15%).
HD52 GiGi Hayes 3,880 (48.87%) is in a runoff with LaTanya Millhouse 2,098 (26.40%). Kelvin Datcher received 1,964 (24.74%).
HD54 incumbent Neil Rafferty 5,042 (70%) over Joseph J. Holt 2,161 (29.96%).
HD55 incumbent Travis Hendrix 4,366 (56.84%) over Jennifer "Jenny" Craig 1,706 (22.21%) and Eric Major 1,609 (20.95).
HD57 incumbent Patrick Sellers 5,454 (61.14%) bested Shamyia Atkins 541 (6.07%) and Mara Ruffin Blackmon 2,925 (32.79%).
HD60 incumbent Juandalynn Givan3,261 (33.55%) was trounced by Alicia Escott Lumpkin 5,080 ((52.26%). Nina Taylor got 1,379 (14.19%)
HD69 incumbent Kelvin J Lawrence 5,291(66%) defeated Marshae R. Madison 2,726 (34%).
HD72 incumbent Curtis L Travis beat Michael Williams 6,163 (76.63%) to 1,880 (23.37%).
HD74 Jasmyne Crimiel beat Austin Smith 4,044 (54.77%) to 3,340 (45.23%).
HD76 incumbent Patrice "Penni" McClammy beat Terance "Watchdog" Dawson 6,583 (78.48%) to 1,805 (21.52%).
HD82 incumbent Pebblin W. Warren 2,784 (48.16%) is in a runoff with Signey "Doc" Brown 1,225 (23.11%). Terrence K. Johnson had 1,125 (19.46%) and Jamie Lowe 536 (9.27%).
HD84 incumbent Berry Forte got 3,449 votes (58.44%) over Brittani O'Hara-Grant 2,453 (41.56%).
HD97 incumbent Adline C. Clarke defeated Shalela Dowdy 3,384 (61.91%) to 2,082 (38.09%).
HD99 incumbent Sam Jones defeated challengers Jyl Hughes and Levi Wright. Hughes had 512 votes (7.24%), Jones 5,856 (82.91%), and Wright 696 (9.85%).
The primary runoff elections will be on Tuesday, June 16.
The general election will be on Tuesday, November 3.
